Brock student Alexandra Milledge, who recently completed A levels in Ceramics, English Literature, and Drama and Theatre Studies, will have her Ceramics work featured in the prestigious Royal Society of British Artists exhibition.

Her work was spotted by NADFAS Society New Milton, when on display at the College’s annual Visual Arts and Photomedia show in July, and was put forward to a selection process, along with 277 other pieces of A level artwork from 62 schools, to be considered by the Royal Society of British Artists. The RBA President, James Horton and his fellow council members then picked 20 pieces, including Alexandra Milledge’s Ceramics piece, which combined the highest levels of skill, expression and draughtsmanship.

Alexandra and the other shortlisted students will have the title ‘RBA Scholar’during the show and receive an invitation to the private view at the Mall Galleries as well as a certificate. The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Society’s John Ingram Memorial Prize will be awarded for an exceptional piece of work. Alexandra’s piece will be shown alongside that of professional artists at the Mall Galleries in London from the 5th -15th March 2014.

Speaking of her achievement, Alexandra said: “I am so excited to present a piece that I am immensely proud of in the RBA exhibition, I think I'm still in shock about being selected for such an incredible opportunity! My piece took a long time to create and if it wasn’t for my Ceramics teacher Rebecaa Rees, and her encouragement, support and guidance, I don't think I would be as proud or as happy as I am with its final outcome.”
